Privacy policy

This website is deliberately built to collect as little as possible: it sets no cookies, includes no analytics or tracking services, and loads nothing from third-party servers.

2 · Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. When you open the site, the host automatically processes technical access data transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of access, the address requested, the volume of data transferred, the referrer, and browser and operating system identifiers. This data is technically necessary for secure and stable operation and is not combined with other data.

Log data is processed solely for technical operation and to detect faults or misuse, and is deleted automatically once it is no longer needed for that purpose. No further storage or evaluation takes place.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing a technically error-free service). A data processing agreement is in place with the host. The transfer to the USA is covered by the provider's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023); the Commission's standard contractual clauses apply in addition.

3 · No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses neither local storage nor session storage. There is no reach measurement, no analysis of user behaviour and no profiling. That is also why you will not find a consent banner here: there is simply nothing to consent to.

4 · Fonts and graphic resources

All fonts and all files used for display are served from our own server. In particular, there is no connection to Google Fonts or any other third-party content delivery network. Your IP address is therefore not transmitted to any third party when you open this site.

5 · Getting in touch

If you contact me by email, I process your details solely to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to entering into a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Your data is deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with and no statutory retention periods apply.

6 · Enquiry form

When you fill in the enquiry form and click “Send enquiry”, your entries are transmitted to me: the type of project, a description of your business, your current website if you have one, your goals and timing, your name, and the contact details you provide (phone number and/or email address). The complete message is shown to you before it is sent.

The purpose is solely to answer your enquiry and discuss a possible project. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give explicitly in the form, and Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, informally, at the address given above. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Where the data goes, and for how long: the entries are received by a function on this site’s server, forwarded to me immediately as an email, and are not stored there — there is no database and no log containing your input. For sending that email I use Resend, operated by Plus Five Five, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA, acting as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR; a corresponding agreement is in place. Your enquiry stays in my mailbox until it has been dealt with and no statutory retention periods apply, after which it is deleted.

Transfer to the USA: processing by Resend takes place primarily in the United States. The transfer is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR. You should be aware that access to the transferred data by US authorities cannot be ruled out with the same certainty as within the EU, and that legal remedies against it may be limited. By giving your consent you also consent to this transfer (Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR). If you would rather avoid it, write to me directly via WhatsApp or by email instead — the buttons for that are at the end of the form.

You do not have to use the form. You can send me the same message directly via WhatsApp or by email — there are separate buttons for that at the end of the form. In that case nothing leaves your browser until you press send in your own app. If you stop before that or close the window, nothing remains.

7 · Contact via WhatsApp

You can reach me on WhatsApp. The provider is WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland, part of the Meta group. If you write to me there, I process your phone number, the profile name stored there and the content of your messages in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where it relates to entering into or performing a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Message contents are end-to-end encrypted, but WhatsApp generates connection data that may be transferred to the United States. Meta Platforms, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. I have no influence over that processing; details are set out in WhatsApp's own privacy policy. If you would rather avoid it, send me an email instead — it makes no difference to me.

I use WhatsApp on a separate business line with no access to an address book, so no contact data of third parties is synchronised. Chat histories are deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with and no statutory retention periods apply.

8 · Encryption

This site is served exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS).

9 · Your rights

You have the right at any time to obtain information about the personal data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), as well as rights to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Please contact the address given above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the state of your habitual residence.

10 · Right to object

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you which is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21(1) GDPR). If you object, your data will no longer be processed on that basis unless there are compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. An informal message to the email address above is sufficient.
